In Texas, there are two types of guardians: guardians of the person and guardians of the estate. The former has the right to take charge of the ward, duty to provide care, supervision, and protection for the ward, duty to provide clothing, food, medical care and shelter, and power to consent to medical and psychiatric treatment. The latter has the right and duty to manage the ward's property, enforce the ward's obligations and bring or defend suits by or against the ward.
Marold Law Firm, PLLC regularly advises guardians of the estate and guardians of the person as to the fiduciary standards and procedures that guardians must follow. We also regularly are appointed by the courts to act as attorney ad litems and guardian ad litems for Proposed Wards. If you have a guardianship issue, Marold Law Firm, PLLC is your go-to guardianship law firm in San Antonio.
